Dances with Wolves – The Wedding

by Dartmouth Flickr via Flickr

Happy Valentines Day!

I thought about this film last night and wanted to share it with you. I first posted it last year. First Nations people speak their language as a young couple is married! I love hearing Lakota!

This is a beautiful piece of film towards the end of the movie. It begins with the giving of gifts so that the main character, (formerly Lt. Dunbar) can get married. He keeps checking to see if his gifts have been accepted. Then he talks with a friend, Wind in His Hair, the very same person that had charged at him, and yelled at him, in the beginning of the film. Now they are friends.  Then there is the wedding!

When you watch this short piece keep an eye out for two things. First there is the narration done by the main character (Dances with Wolves), on what it’s like getting married. It’s very nice. Secondly there is a feeling of what it was like living in a village. Beautiful!

Blessings to everyone, and PEACE!

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I watch this movie quite some time ago. But Natives fascinate me. It’s the movie of their culture.

    1. Tanveer thank you for your wonderful comments! This film is good, but please be careful with it due to the violence. If I watch it at home I now skip those parts. Please see two postings I made from last year. One is called why I like the film, and the other is why I don’t like the film, or something very similar. You can search at the bottom of my webpage with “Dances with Wolves”.
One thing very interesting is that the main character writes in a journal about his adventures. I don’t like the ending of the film, and I think the ending of the book is much better. Still there are many positives also.
      God bless you!

      1. not Hollywood only but even t.v serials and video games, cartoon films etc. they have made children hyper and children behave the same way in their practical life. they are now. Impatient restless crazy and rude. i feel unhappy to see this but helpless 😦
