Today, in many parts of the world, it is Mother’s Day. I’m not sure if it was invented to sell more greeting cards, but it is good and right, to recognize our mothers, to show appreciation for them, and to thank them. I’m thankful for my mother, and for my wife (My Love), for being the amazing, wonderful people they are. But many of us did not grow up in a paradise on earth, where Mom stayed home, and cooked all day, meeting everyone’s needs, and prepared a fantastic meal for Thanksgiving. In many cases that is far from reality.
In many cases family life can be a hell on earth, instead of paradise. Do you say “Happy Mother’s Day” to a woman who is married to an abusive husband, who feels trapped, unable to free herself? What about the woman unable to have children because of medical reasons? Mother’s Day can be very painful. And then there are women who experience the horrible pain of losing a child, meaning they have passed away. What about them? What do you say?
Many women living in poverty, know nothing of Mother’s Day, and no one ever says thank you. Instead, they are terrified of being abused – again. In many cases they are also terrified of not having enough food for their children to eat, and sometimes these two circumstances are tied together. I’m not saying we should do away with Mother’s Day, far from it, but let’s remember the women who have never had a Happy Mother’s Day.
To all women who are having a difficult time, facing unimaginable circumstances, thank you for your courage, your determination, your love and compassion! YOU ARE AMAZING! And God please help us to make this world a better place, where women can be free, and safe, where all women can have opportunities to reach their full potential. Help us, help them. Amen. There are superheroes all over our planet, and many of them are women.
Compassion should always result in action.
Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

That is a very thoughtful and compassionate tribute to all women! Wonderful!
Thank you Erika!
I appreciate your sensitivity towards all. So true not all of us were born into families where we were nurtured in a healthy manner and then there are some that made choices based on fear of consequences.. Yes, very compassionate and thoughtful! Thank you!
Thank you for your beautiful comments! Blessings.

I am so grateful for the wordpress family! I tell my wife all the time how they are such a blessing. 🙂
Huge smiles and hugs for you and your wife my friend and blessings in abundance.
God doesn’t have to make the world a better place. Men have to stop beating women and children. They have to the responsibility for their children. They have to stop the violence. Society has to pay women a living wage so they don’t have to DEPEND upon me and take the abuse, so they have shelter and food for their kids. God doesn’t have anything to do with it. MEN CAN CHANGE THE SITUATION NOW…TODAY…THEY JUST HAVE TO STOP DOING WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
I do agree with you… 100%! ❤
Melanie please see my reply. We all need to do our part.
Gigi you missed my point – God needs to help us, as in people to do what is right – we all need to do what we can to make the world better. You do this all the time. For instance Artists for Peace. There are wrongs in the world and we need to be involved with making the world better. Of course men need to stop beating women. Of course that is plain. We also need economics that help people, and health care and a living wage. We can all work on that – together we can make a difference. We have to if we want to see change. You may not believe in a personal God but I do.
What a nice tribute to all women. And that is half the world 🙂 And so many of them are mothers. (like me). It is not always easy to raise children but one day the job is done 🙂 I think that is the best part! To enjoy the grownups they’ve become.
It is good to see them grow and become who they were meant to be, in the world making their own way. Thank you Ina for your beautiful comments! Blessings and peace.
Mothers’ day should be every day as “Woman is MAN’s future.”(Louis Aragon)… 🙂 In Western Europe is celebrated the last Sunday of May…
