A dresser with lace,
holding the photograph in a frame,
means more to her now,
more than last year, or the year before,
she does not want to forget,
his face.
He was so young then,
what would he look like now,
if he had survived?
Would he be married with children?
She would weep a little bit more today,
when she heard the music,
saw the flag,
echoes of gunfire in her mind,
Vietnam.
She didn’t care about the politics,
as she wept,
she just wanted,
her son back.
Note: Please pray for all those that have died in war, and their families.

Parents see the kid not the warrior! They don’t give anything on honor and patriotism.
