Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolutions.
Kahlil Gibran
It’s not popular to be tender or kind. People are often harsh or mean. Men in particular are trained to be tough. People that are very nice tend to be considered weak. Yet, which is more valuable – harshness or tenderness and kindness? Which of the these will help us to connect and stay connected to the ultimate source of love? We all know the answer. When I see the words of Gandhi, Chief Joseph, Gibran, and many others, I see tremendous strength, and yet gentleness at the same time. That’s where I want to be! When you read what they said or wrote, it is obvious they were connected, and that they lived their lives loving and honoring people. Now that is kindness. That indeed is greatness.
May the fountain of tenderness and kindness, and our love for people, cause us to bring life to others.
