Human Beings

Maine and More 228

There will always be people fleeing,

running from guns,

and bombs,

praying for a doctor,

needing a job,

wanting to raise a family,

in peace.

They are searching, longing for,

the good soil,

wanting to grow,

wanting to see some beauty,

a spoonful of oatmeal,

for their children.

Planting themselves in a field,

instead of in a pile of rubble,

dreaming of more,

than a bunch of rocks,

being treated,

as human beings,

living, breathing, humans,

not aliens.

Dignity.

    1. Thank you Amy! Yes, we need to be more aware of the way people are being treated. The key I think is treating people as humans and not as another drain on our economies. Resources are limited, but we need to be more global, and to have compassion. Peace and blessings to you.

    1. Thank you Erika! I have not checked my reader yet, but I believe as artists and writers, this issue is tugging at our heart strings, and you know what? It should! The more compassion the better! Peace my friend.

      1. I think exactly the same, Nidodemas. I just had a discussion with my husband. I believe that it is possible to change the systems if people start changing their view towards life and the world. Some few can affect more. As you say, the more the better. And those more again affect more. I am sure it is not easy and done in two days but basically it must be possible. There were so many who proved already that it can work (like Gandhi for example). Perhaps I am crazy but I believe it is possible.

      2. You are not crazy. You are an awesome motivator with a faith in humanity. You have a positive spirit, and even though I’m not as positive as you over all, I am right there with you on this. In order to change the world we have to believe that we can. Awesome comments Erika. Peace!

  1. There may not always be people on this planet, and it may well be not that far in the future, unless things change dramatically in the near future; it’s past the tipping point, if we don’t save the planet now.

    1. You’re right Genie! It’s one of the themes I run in the current series of fiction. For me saving the planet means the people and also the environment. We need clean food. Peace and blessings.
