A Quote from Helen Keller

Canada and More 085

No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an unchartered land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.

Helen Keller

Helen Keller is truly one of the greatest heroes of human history. Her courage of overcoming such incredible limitations, of not being able to hear, or speak, is nothing short of inspirational. She had to learn how to communicate, from a very young age, and yet she became a prolific author, and world famous speaker. She was an advocate for people with disabilities, for working people, and for women’s rights.

In this quote we can see so much of her courageous, and positive spirit. Keller’s view was that people are limited by being negative. You cannot accomplish something, unless you believe that you can. In her view, being an optimist is what enables us, or gives us the strength and power, to discover the mysteries of the heavens, the uncharted seas, and most of all the opening of opportunities for the human spirit.

Her words here, are meant to provoke us to think about how we approach life, and our attitude. She is also showing us how unlimited we can be, and that we too can accomplish great things! Let us think of her as an example, of overcoming our own obstacles.

I wish you peace!

  1. That truly is a wonderful quote! We have to be optimistic or at least dreamer of something that might not be visible yet to make the impossible possible, or bring the possible to life.
