As the Wind Dances

Winter Trees 002

As the wind passes through the winter trees

and dances next to our house, I can think of nothing better

than eating buttered toast, with a little bit of cinnamon

sprinkled on top, as we snuggle further down in the blankets

reading in bed, a tray, with a cup of coffee, a cup of tea

I ask, “Can I read you a poem?” you answer silently

with a smile, and your eyes sparkling

once again.
