The Serenity of the Sea

Oceans 183

It was the serenity of sea that you fell in love with

seeing the universe in a sea shell, pebbles

between your fingers, sand between your toes,

calling you to a peace you had not known

as we walked in the dunes, saying so much

without a word, I wanted to hold you

but I could see you were in sacred territory,

I could see it in your eyes.

Will you dance and sing

with the sunrise?

I was rejoicing

seeing you so free.

  1. very nice… about one week ago, I posted 2 pix with I took of the Mediterranean sea @ my FB:
I love the way the Mediterranean never stops “French kissing” its shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away… and this:”When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.”(Rainer Maria Rilke)
