A Fortunate Garden

Oceans 959

A fortunate garden is one well-tended

as we grow from tender shoots, caressed

by the rain, the gardener feeds, then removes

dead weeds. Our plants unseen

growing, flourishing, reaching up,

at times hammered

by hail, torn be a destructive wind,

but the gardener reaches in

with gentle hands,

repairing, lifting,

bringing life

in order to share

the beauty.

Let us grow our gardens

with tenderness,

may they be

fortunate.
