As the Winter Fades

100_1808

As the winter fades and our world

turns to green, I still remember

our winter together,

snuggling in the blankets

just a little bit longer,

drinking tea

at the breakfast table

eggs, and toast

with cinnamon,

as I admire you

in your pajamas.

Then there was bundling up

in our parkas

knit hats with gloves

to go to the movies.

I always managed to find

your cheek somehow

to plant a kiss

not that you were hiding it.

And I love that twinkle

in your eyes,

still.
