Friday Night Culture – Maya Angelou

from bet - Maya

If you have never heard of, or read Maya Angelou before, you are in for a real treat tonight. I not only love her poetry, but I also love when she talks about what she has learned in life. There is poetry in her heart as she talks about growing up, and her mother. And you can see the heart of a poet as she encourages us to do what is right, and to live our lives to the fullest.

She is an inspiring teacher, and author. I use the term “is” because her legacy, her words live on, even though she has passed away.

I will get out of the way now so her words can speak to us, lift us up, and encourage us.

And I wish you peace.

  1. I like her work! Last year in August I also posted her Love Liberates video. I like the way she speaks, there’s a certain spark there that makes you just want to listen more. 😊
