Primitive

100_1573

The spears don’t reach as far now

weak throwing,

few of us have ever held

a battle ax,

and yet we are so willing

to tear each other to shreds

with our words, in the shadows

behind their backs

a look that speaks,

of violence and hatred.

Somehow it all just seems –

so primitive.
