Cemeteries

I cannot understand how cemeteries can be so quiet

when everything within us wants to scream

or cry…..no…or how come???

Perhaps it is from the ceasing of battle,

or the pain is too much

to be spoken.

Walking through the veil of grief, takes time.

  1. Well said.
In spite of their connections I generally find most cemeteries peaceful places. The phrase “at peace” comes to mind – “battles ended” as you said. There’s also a reassuring sense of continuity also found in nature, something bigger than me.

  2. I think through grief we could all do with a bit more screaming Nico and a little less suppressing. It helps release our pain and connect us to the stillness. Wonderful understanding.
