Turtles in the Springtime

100_0199

In the mist of a light rain, he walked with his daughter, near the green pond

and she asked him, “Daddy, do turtles know when it’s spring?”

He was amazed at the questions she would ponder,

7 years old, and yet filled with wisdom. So he smiled.

“Yes, sweetheart the turtles do know,

and when they poke their heads, just above the water

they thank God for the sun.” She thought about this,

then suddenly she pointed and shouted, “Look Daddy!

there’s a turtle thanking God!”

And sure enough, there was.
