In the Mountains Where Eagles Live

20170628_132225

In the mountains where eagles live,

a lone hiker stops, to tie his boots again

as he lays his walking stick down,

he watches

a mother bear, teach her cubs

that blueberries really are good

for food.

And as the clouds drift

chipmunks scatter under the brush

running for their burrows

having seen a shadow

of wings.

And the hiker continues

with a renewed strength,

as he picks up

his walking stick.

    1. Lol, well they are real small, and very fast! We have lots of them here, especially in the mountains. Most of the time you hear them moving before seeing them. Thank you, and peace to you!

    1. Erika thank you for your beautiful comments, and encouragement! I love being outdoors, and this one is from a recent trip to the mountains. Peace and blessings to you and your family.
