The Queen’s Journey

brown-woman from bridesHer skin was bathed in frankincense and myrrh, the dark one

clothed in layers of gold linen, descending

from the mountains of Cush, having conquered dozens

of nations, and the hearts of men

she was never faint

for love, and yet

his voice seemed to call to her,

his wisdom

would he accept her anointing?

As they approached the Great City

where he flowed like rivers

she knew, before their eyes ever met

they would conquer

each other.

Note: This is speaks of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba
