Guns

No American citizen needs an M16, or an AR15, or an AK47, we just don’t.

And when the founders of our country gave us the right to bear arms, they never envisioned these kinds of weapons, and were more interested in the threat of the British, instead of each other.

And we don’t need sawed-off shotguns, or .44 Magnums which can shoot a hole through a concrete wall, we just don’t.

It’s OK to have rules and restrictions – we do it all the time, for example traffic laws. Why do we have these rules?

To keep people safe!!!

It’s time

to end our love affair

with weapons.

    1. Thank you so much! Some may be ok but we need to have more control over how many and what type. In the U.S. there are not enough rules to protect people. Peace to you and be blessed.

  1. I entirely agree, Nicodemas. There is a vast distinction between hunting for consumption (say with a bow), and carelessly mowing down innocent children in a drive-by. I suspect, however, that many who support the weapons you describe fear the government as much as we once feared the British.

  2. People love guns and they also have a love affair with violence. With each generation a human life is less and less valuable. I remember being bullied in school and although I hated them I never wanted to end their life. Psalms 11:5 says, “Jehovah examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one; He hates anyone who loves violence.” With all of the music, movies and video games the attitudes towards guns is only going to get worse. Psalms 11:7 says, “Jehovah is righteous; he loves righteous acts.” I pray that one day we grow to love righteous acts as well.

    1. What beautiful thoughts, thank you so much! Yes we do live in a culture of violence, unfortunately. The two greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. Peace to you and wonderful blessings.
