His Spirit Lay Quietly Over the Open Sea

100_1457

It seemed as if his spirit lay quietly over the open sea, with grey clouds

oppressing, pushing down with snowflakes

falling, covering the gentle movement

of the waves, then melting

or was it only a piece of him

a fragment?

A memory of the sun broke

the grey, and suddenly it did let go,

and he was moving again

a wave roaring

washing the shore,

sparkling

in the winter sun.
