It Was in the Oak Leaves

20170628_162257

It was in the oak leaves that I found those words

vaguely familiar,

yet strangely beautiful

in their shape holding

so many promises

of another world

so I wondered

if my spirit could form them

very gently

into a poem.

Oak trees are so full

in the summer.

  1. “Oak trees are so full in the summer”. Bringing my mind to think of us, men. So full in our robust “summer” months, yet I can’t help but think of the beauty of the “winter” tree to come. Beautiful Nicodemus. Beautiful.
