On This Christmas in Texas

On this Christmas somewhere in Texas, another small child

is locked away

crying, wailing,

if she will ever see her Mommy again.

Is this America?

She wonders

and begins to cry again

into the empty air.

Note: This was very much on my heart. May we always remember the poor and those unable to protect themselves.

  1. This is not the America I know and love–it is the reality right now–and I believe we are at a tipping point to bring back love and compassion for the less fortunate. Merry Christmas to you and your family, I so enjoy your posts.

  2. Thank you for this reminder – to be grateful for what we have, and to also never forget those who are facing challenging times (and each do our part – however great or small – to do something about it!). God bless!

    1. Yes, and the conditions are awful. As you know they are at risk because of a lack of good medical care. May God forgive us. The whole thing shows that we are not as progressive as we pretend to be. Peace Cindy. Let’s hope changes come soon.
