You and I on the Ridgetop

20170628_172347

On the ridgetop you and I could see why prophets weep over the valley,

and the strength of rivers reaching

into and beyond the dry bones.

Even today the tribes still seek

the safety of stone

a sacred space

to keep all their prayers.

You cried a little

when you finally saw it.

Words Spoken

20190427_101626

Well I received a notice the other day from wordpress saying I’ve been blogging for 5 years!!

Thank you again for all of your wonderful support here. I wish I could follow each one of you.

I don’t write out of some psychological need, and I certainly don’t write here to make money! Although it would be nice to have some books to sell.

I write simply because the words live within me. They simply flow.

Here’s a poem for today:

Words living within not to be hidden

or tucked away

but meant to be spoken

or written

from the heart.

Our Heart Song Riding on the Wind

20170628_135215

You didn’t really hear me when I spoke but I was aiming more for the sky instead of your ear,

hoping the words would ascend floating

around in the heavens replaying

in the form of a song,

encouraging us

again and again. You looked up

and feathers began falling reminding us of snow,

it was some sort of sign I’m sure

we stood there

knowing we were the prayer

our heart song riding……

on the wind now.

The Words I’ve Been Carrying

20180707_161124

I turn towards the light, spinning some words, singing a phrase

expecting the revelation, instead water falls on me

but I am cleansed mostly

fig leaves never hiding me

or the words I’ve been carrying for so long,

waiting to write. So I begin again….

We all have a story.
