Sand Dunes

20190719_145206

I was in my heart on a dry day, and the ocean wind would not satisfy, no matter how much I believed.

So I went through the dunes hunting. Hunting for a reason some people are healed…..

and why some only have the faith of a little bird, with small wings.

Still others are a tortoise shell, hiding their heart, protecting themselves at all costs.

I breathed, and I couldn’t help it, I couldn’t keep holding it all, so I let it all go……every heartache.

And finally I allowed myself……to embrace the wind……from the ocean.

In Our Seasons

20190918_095319

Lately I’ve been experimenting with different times for posting. In some ways blogging can be like politics.

I’ve been hopeful initially and then…….oh no what happened?!

And apparently my work is not nearly as popular as it used to be, it’s only a fraction now of what it once was.

My work of poetry had a certain flow in 2017, which I really love. Yet I have changed too, over the past few years. So admittedly, I do get discouraged.

However, in thinking about it, and in praying about it, I know I still have something to contribute.

I still have a voice here, and I still have something to say. My goal has always been to make the world a more beautiful place.

I’m in the market for a good camera now and plan to explore my continuing love of photography.

Thank you so much for reading, and investing your time here! You all are awesome!

P.S. I’ll be making a few adjustments to the site, and to posting.

Peace.

Whispering into the Woods

20170929_145444

When I whispered into the woods today,

into the peace,

into the quiet waiting,

poems escaped

and prayers took shape lifting themselves

far beyond the tallest trees,

and I realized I was filtering

through the sunlight and the shade.

We need both really

to understand

our own

heart language.
