In Our Seasons

Lately I’ve been experimenting with different times for posting. In some ways blogging can be like politics.

I’ve been hopeful initially and then…….oh no what happened?!

And apparently my work is not nearly as popular as it used to be, it’s only a fraction now of what it once was.

My work of poetry had a certain flow in 2017, which I really love. Yet I have changed too, over the past few years. So admittedly, I do get discouraged.

However, in thinking about it, and in praying about it, I know I still have something to contribute.

I still have a voice here, and I still have something to say. My goal has always been to make the world a more beautiful place.

I’m in the market for a good camera now and plan to explore my continuing love of photography.

Thank you so much for reading, and investing your time here! You all are awesome!

P.S. I’ll be making a few adjustments to the site, and to posting.

    1. Thank you G! Your comments are wonderfully encouraging. Stopping for good was an option I had considered but I’m moving forward, and pressing on! Thanks again. Peace and wonderful blessings.

  1. Hello Mr. Nico,
Your writing and imagery are not only beautiful, but thought-provoking and uplifting. I sincerely hope you will continue with it, I believe many are encouraged and given hope. All best wishes and blessing to you and your family!

    1. Thank you Takami for your beautiful and encouraging words! Thank you for being such a wonderful part of my blog. I’m continuing for now. Peace and be wonderfully blessed my friend.

  2. People have changed , Nico . I blog since 2001 on Xanga and at this time I got a lot of friends but nowadays so many people look ” tired ” and Xanga has disappeared . Facebook is so easy !!! 😉
    In friendship

    1. Thank you Michel! Yes, social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc have taken over I think, especially with young people. Peace my friend and blessings to you and your family.

  3. I’ll speak in your terms. God does not look at how many followers you have. If you get your message out to one person and that has an impact on that person and changes his journey then you have done a service. God does not care if you have 500 followers that don’t listen he cares about that one person. Not that he doesn’t care about the 500 that don’t listen he does. Perhaps that one person was in despair or suicidal and your words lifter him or her. I hope this makes sense.

    1. Yes, it makes very good sense. I haven’t thought of it like that my friend. And perhaps I really wasn’t seeing the impact that much. Your words are a bright ray of sunshine so thank you Joseph! I needed to hear it. Lately I have felt old. But I am pressing forward. Peace and wonderful blessings to you.

  4. I can only speak for myself, of course, but to me, you never fail to reach a deep spot inside of me with your poetry, Nico. One thing is for sure, no matter how many are reading your poetry, those who need to read it find you. I think it is more important to make a difference in one person’s life with the words coming from your soul than making a difference in your words for having everybody over but not with the same effect.
Just do what your heart tells you to do, Nico. Lots of love!

    1. Erika your kind words mean alot! Thank you so much my friend. I honestly was not looking for compliments when I posted this, I was simply sharing my heart, some of what i go through as a writer. I will continue but a little differently. I do sometimes feel like the older person I am. Like I said though, I feel like I still have something I can contribute. Peace, blessings and thank you again.

      1. Nico, I know that it was not your intention to receive compliments. But to tell from what I read, we are following you because of what you are sharing and because of the way you are sharing it. How much there is still waiting to be shared speaks from every post you write. Thank you so much for what you are doing here!

      2. You made my day, my week even Erika! Thank you so much for your beautiful words. I’m humbled my friend, even inspired. Peace to you and wonderful blessings.
