The Primal Dawn

20191109_154744

It was one of those primal dawns,

with the world not yet awake,

and a chill

in the cold night air still lingering,

the earth was so quiet pausing

without rotation,

without wild revelations

only the beginning of the sun

in the quiet of the night ending

bringing a thrill, a wholeness,

even without chimes,

until one single robin began

to sing her chorus,

lifting the sun even higher……

and eventually

a new day began.

  1. Although I am not one of those really early birds, I love that atmosphere when nature is just about to wake up. There is something magical about it.
