In the Barrenness of Moonlight

Grey Sky

In the barrenness of the moonlight two drifting souls found

each other’s hand,

and this time, there was confidence

in the reaching,

hope in the touching,

as they found wholeness

in the brokenness

of each other.

Walking in the Peace

20190507_133518

When I walked that trail where the mountain meets the sky

I felt the sun breaking through,

filtering, dancing in the pine trees

and I decided right there

to walk in the peace

I’d been given

carrying the light

of who

I was always meant to be.

How it All Began

20190427_101241He was just 17 when he first started searching for his spirit, deep in the cool darkness of the woods.

With light streaming occasionally, he always found the shadows of wings in the stillness,

not quite a ghost. And water falling through rocks brought calm, balm for his soul,

until a crow bursted with noise, offended by his presence. He could sit for hours on the large rock,

by the rope swing, especially in winter listening to the silence of the snowfall….

that’s really how it all began. Soon he would study the tribes, including the Lakota and Cheyenne.

The Forgotten Wing

20170628_172400

A forgotten wing was her redemption that day, riding the line, too close to despair. She needed the mountains.

She pulled the car over, got out and lifted her hand, wanting to split open the sky….

to see all the stars and suns of the night, to discover the unknown, the whirl

of the earth’s rotation. And maybe even find that lost soul of who she was before.

“Not strong enough just yet.” she said out loud……While she pulled the clouds away, unable to open the blue.

That forgotten wing did encourage her though, and she decided one day she would know who she was,

and she would dance in the galaxies, even in the middle of the day…..

The Enfolding

20180930_124305

His faith told him, actually his love told him too,

to stretch out his wings

and draw her in,

but she was already a warrior

so sensing his spirit she stretched out her wings

and they enfolded one another.

Holding on this way,

gave them both

courage and strength.

Note: As a couple we find that we are holding each other more now. My wife has started treatments for cancer again.

I only mention it because some of you ask about her. Right now the tough part….is emotional.

Wishing you peace.

Peace Within Refreshing Us

20190915_155501

Within peace, our spirits grow still, and yet

stronger,

the quiet within

refreshing us.

When you leave comments on my site I always respond with peace.

I not only want our world to be a more beautiful place, but I offer peace to each person

as a way of blessing. It’s a hope really, in some ways a prayer. That internally

we all will have a sense of wholeness, and well being.

That’s what the word Shalom means, and I suspect it’s something similar with Salaam.

Peace everyone, may we all be at peace….within.

Happy Easter, Happy Passover

20180428_172027Today millions of Christians around the world will be celebrating Easter, the resurrection of Christ.

It is a season of new life. If you keep this day, may God bless you and fill you with faith and goodness.

And my Jewish friends are celebrating Passover. It is a time of remembering their freedom from slavery.

The term “Passover” comes from the night the angel of death “passed over” the people, sparing their lives. Did you know that?

I have a number of faiths represented here and I’m very glad you’re here!

By the way the cherry blossoms and tulips are in full bloom, and the earth is bursting with spring.

Peace to each one and great blessings.

Cherry Blossom Snow

20200324_140210

Cherry blossom snow covered the sky, landing on the only person in the park this sunrise, sitting

lost in her day dreaming. She wondered what if snow really was pink?

What if a really strong wind could blow away this disease? She bowed her head with tears flowing…..

she prayed. She needed the Lady of the Lake to rise up with a sword…no a vaccine.

A whirlwind filled with cherry blossum petals enveloped her, as she prayed some more weeping.

Wiping her tears in the wind, she knew it was time to go home, get out of her scrubs and get some rest….

but the whirlwind fell when her phone buzzed. The text read,

“Doctor we have 2 more cases just brought in – we’ve got it for now, but we need you in again by 7pm.”

As she rose to go, she texted quickly, and began walking home in the cherry blossum snow,

hoping and praying

for a different spring next year.

This is dedicated to all the doctors, nurses and paramedics on the front lines fighting this disease.

Thank you! You truly are heroes!
