A Poem Tapped Me on My Shoulder

A poem snuck up on me today, tapped me on my shoulder,

whispered in my ear,

as if hawk’s breath

would made it stronger,

I felt the shifting,

the surprise of a small piece

of light,

the shaping of words and phrases

from my heartflow,

the mystical creation

of poetry.

  1. Wonderfully composed. Delicate and serene. Just an amazing job. Glad to hear that you’ll be writing more! Peace and greetings from Sui generis 💛

  2. Ah, yes. Sometimes the poem finds you and just washes over you with all its emotions. You cannot help it but note all it is telling you in that moment.

  3. I really like the picture this painted in my mind and how it truly feels this way when the words hit me, tapping me on the shoulder😉 well done👏
