Mountain Song

20170628_172415

As he stood there in his mountain song, he remembered the prayers of the fathers, the voices of his mothers uplifted,

and he knew his strength was not of this world, it was his spirit, it was always his spirit that gave him strength……

he closed his eyes then, taking in visions of the never ending river, listening to the comfort….

of the wind.

  1. “And after the fire came a still, small voice ( or a small breath) . When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings, at Horeb

  2. If it weren’t for this greenery, your poem would remind me of the mountain of the Beatitudes, and the river mentioned reminds me of Ezekiel (the river flowing from the temple and fertilizing the country.)
