America the Beautiful

We have such a beautiful country, don’t we?

The other day my wife and I were driving near our home when we noticed a woman walking, dressed in traditional clothing, perhaps from Africa.

Yet Africa’s not a country, did you know that? There are many countries,

thousands of cultures and languages there. And this lady was wearing some beautiful clothing, with bright colors.

And later in the day My Love and I were on our front porch speaking of love and whatever the future holds,

when a neighbor walked by with her grandson. She’s a good neighbor, and from Indonesia.

Such a beautiful country we are.

Well unless you consider…..the militias. The ugliness of far right extremists, in love with their assault rifles,

intimidating voters, spinning bizarre ideas, many hating brown or black people.

Stop the far right extremists, stop the hate, stop the lies.

Keep America beautiful,

and free.

VOTE.

  1. I do not believe ugly only belongs to the ideology of one… ugly is inherent in every person unwilling to answer questions, unwilling to tell us what they really will do once they are elected. Sweet words are often cover for hypocrisy that has dealt a hand of evil for too many years. The country is dark because we have been blinded to our own hate for brothers who think differently. It isn’t love that is going to save us. It is open minds and eyes that see how deceitful the heart truly is.

    1. Thank you Jeanne! You and I would agree that each of us needs to look at our own hearts. Yet I differ in that one side is far uglier and darker. The extreme far right has the language and sometimes actions far more hideous than anything from the other side. That’s my observation and my opinion.
And I think this election is the most important in the history of the United States, thus the post. It is for the soul of who we are as a people.
I’m sorry if you think politics won’t produce anything good. I think it can, although admittedly it won’t be perfect. Because people are not perfect. I will fight for whatever good I can find.
When I wrote about being on the front porch with my wife, we were talking about our marriage and what the future holds for us personally. Yet I do believe love will improve our world! It is love Jeanne that produces an open mind, not hate. That’s why the Scriptures tell us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Peace and blessings to you.

      1. Hi. Scripture tells us if we hate a brother, if we can find no forgiveness, if we become blind by our own goodness not to see the speck in our eye, we will fall into a darkness greater than the darkness we perceive to see. Im saying that we are faced with two evils yet again. Neither party are wholeheartedly in it for “us”. And if we vote how can we justify our own inaction? I am far better in the trenches than in the voting booth… my opinion. Be blessed where u r in your journey. 🍂🍁🍄🎶

    1. Thank you Pam! By this I think you mean our country is still great. Yes, for sure but these extremists need to be stopped, and the language that is encouraging them. Peace my friend and wonderful blessings.

  2. My ballot has been cast! I hope to see a return to the America I know and love. The America that welcomes immigrants, cares for the poor and less fortunate and values democracy and can engage in civil discourse. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
