Welcome to Rivers Renewed

Welcome to Rivers Renewed! This site was formerly Ancient Skies, and reflects where I am as a writer now.

My subtitle says, “Restoring and renewing our rivers through poetry and wordflow.

Doesn’t that sound exciting? Here’s a short poem:

As our rivers get stronger, our words,

our phrases will infuse

even our own spirits.

Thank you again for reading!

Wishing you peace.

Seasonal Peace

Seasonal peace carrying our prayers, our hopes and dreams,

sometimes through a light snow

or even in a holiday bow,

drawing us closer into our own humanity

and even filling us

with a brighter vision,

that yes maybe we do have a future,

after all.

Note: I’m on a one day blogging break, except for 1 scheduled. Peace to you.

Rivers Soon to Dwell

Rivers soon to dwell, in each chamber of our being

simply by walking

in the late autumn air,

and in the wholeness,

in the wildness of nature

allowing peace,

to take its rightful place

of removing our jagged

so we can live,

once again.

Nature is wild enough, and yet peaceful enough, to heal us.

Loving the Smell of Leaves

Walking true to himself and to others,

he found himself in the forest yesterday.

Loving the smell of leaves, moving

beyond the tree bark convinced,

the wind was speaking another language,

perhaps Lakota or even Cheyenne.

And he was amazed

by the leaves

still hanging on.

Discovery.

As the Wind Fills My Wings

When I write of peace and poetry,

my heart is quickened

as the wind fills my wings,

strengthening my wordflow.

I sure do enjoy writing like this, as you probably know! It is my art, but more than that, it is very much who I am…..as I share pieces of my light. My intention is to encourage both you and I.

Please understand though that when I write of overcoming pain and suffering, it doesn’t mean that I am going through anything at the time. Yes, I write from experience, but I do not write as a therapy.

I simply create, often praying about what I should write. And when I do or sometimes even before I even get to that point, the words just flow through me, in varying degrees. That’s how my poems are created, and how I came up with the term “wordflow”. Maybe you write poetry like that too.

As a side note, I haven’t started on the renovations of my site yet, but I will soon! I want it to reflect more of who I am now.

Thank you so much for reading!

Peace.
