As I watched on TV that day live, the storming of our Capitol building in Washington D.C., I was struck by how many different flags and banners there were.
Besides the Confederate flags and the Gun Rights flags……wait gun rights? Do we still have that in this country? Seriously? How many more people must die before we change this?
You want to protect your home? Ok. You want to go hunting? Sure. But you don’t need an assault rifle, and you never have.
Now, back to January 6th, The analysis of the flags revealed SIX different white supremacist groups were there that day……SIX groups of people. Did you know that?
One of the flags was Nazi. You remember the Nazis. We fought against them in World War II. Millions upon millions of people died around the world because of them.
There were no Antifa at the riot. That’s another right wing extremist lie, proven to be false by our own FBI. What is Antifa? A group of people, an organization that are ANTI-facist.
You remember the facists, we fought against them in World War II. Millions upon millions of people died around the world because of them.
I’m not extreme in any way, in fact I call myself a moderate now, but I would rather have a cup of coffee and a danish with an Antifa person, than a right wing extremist any day. Hands down, not even close.
My flag is the United States of America.
P.S. By the way if you want to confront Asian hate you need to stop the extremists on the right. It’s always been that way, and always will be.

Absolutely!! I’ll never understand the hate. I’ll never understand the radicalism. I’m independent. You might like my post, “In the Middle”. I will never define myself by a political party and I’m ashamed at the amount of hate that has been hiding and then reared it’s ugly head the last 4 years. It’s so sad. I don’t usually bother reading anything on American political subjects but you captured my attention from the beginning. Australia actually has a ‘Shooters, Fishers and Farmers’ party and a logo. I’m not aware of a flag. Our laws are strict but there’s always those who have a law unto themselves and how they get their hands on guns such as assault rifles are still a mystery even with our tough border security. Can America find a way to eliminate such weapons? Can Australia? I sure hope and pray so.
Me too Chrissy, we need to! Only the police and military should have them. Here I think we have a strong gun lobby, that supports an industry making billions! The people have to demand it. Our demographics are changing as a nation and someday I believe assault rifles, which are only made for war, will be gone completely. Not surprised after four years living with Trump’s influence as POTUS and not surprised because – as we’ve talked about a couple of weeks ago – the influence of the Third Reich is still strong in our country *and* worldwide.
The Neo-Nazis marching against your administration are the same Neo-Nazis marching against *our* administration these days. They’re becoming stronger and more violent again and it’s so horrible to see that happening. 😟

Yes, and the ex president was always too friendly with Vladimir Putin. We have some American white supremacy groups going back more than a hundred years ago. Would you believe that some members of Nazi-sub-groups within the German police (!) were also part of the Ku Klux Klan? I’m mentioning this because of the “American white supremacy groups”… Unfortunately there are connections everywhere- 😱
And, yes. Regarding the gun issue and the latest mass shootings in Georgia and Colorado I agree. Way to slowly. This has been going on for too long. Columbine should have been a *final* wake up call… Yet, nothing has changed. I still hope for the best, though. 😟
