The Most Amazing Person on the Planet

After all these years I’m still here blogging! Thank you everyone for reading and for your wonderful comments! I’m truly grateful.

If you’re new here, all are welcome regardless of your background, race, country of origin, your identity, your preferences or your faith. If you have no faith, I hope you will feel welcome here too! We all have a lot in common.

For those of you that are new here, I have just a few notes to share. My wife and I are older. Notice I did not say old! Just older.

As much as I love writing and blogging, the love of my life, the one I call “My Love” is the most amazing person on the planet and she is the one I want to be with. Due to the pandemic we like to go to the park together. And we pick up food and go outside to eat.

And because of our age we unfortunately need to go to the doctor sometimes. For example, I recently took her for her chemo treatment. And I get treatments for chronic pain.

So, I said all this because I do not blog from my phone anymore. I needed to “unhook” that part of technology. And I might be busy at the doctor’s or being in love or both. So please be patient with me in responding to your messages, seeing your posts, and visiting your site you asked me to check out for the first time.

Thank you again for being here!

    1. Thank you Michele for your beautiful comments! Most of what I wrote here today is the long term though. I don’t see a need to retire just yet…..I just needed some understanding for when I’m not here. Peace my friend and wonderful blessings.

  1. I am thankful that you are here, Nico. No matter how often or how long. Just thankful that we are connected, and that for quite a long time. I wish you and your wife good health and relief from illness and pain. May your life be only filled with love and not with illness anymore. Much love to both of you amazing people💖

    1. Thank you Erika for your strengthening encouragement! I’m grateful to be here and that you are an incredible part of this community. Your words and kindness mean a lot. Unfortunately this is not temporary. It is life though and somewhere in our pain there is still poetry. So I write and allow myself to recover with “My Love” by my side. We heal each other in very real ways. Peace my friend and wonderful blessings to you.

      1. I figured it is not something that can be erased easily or at all. I am glad you two have your ways of coping AND recovering, drawing your energy from the self-nurturing flame of love. Something so many don’t have. You are more than aware of this gift and I can feel it through your poetry. It is the proof that love has this healing power.
It is a privilege to witness this as your follower. Thank you! Much love to you and your wife, Nico.

      2. Erika I am humbled by your kind words! I cannot thank you enough for all of your encouragement over the years. I am in tears. Thank you, peace and wonderful blessings my friend.

    1. Thank you Brad so much! Unfortunately this is long term. She’s had cancer off and on for a long time. I find I want to be at the park with her more and more as time goes on and needed to explain that I may not be here as often. I really appreciate your kind words. Peace and wonderful blessings.

  2. Truth to be told, I thought you were around 40-45, judging by your stories 😊 Always happy to have older friends! 😃😉🤍 Older friends are so full of wisdom and light. I soo love your blog and your beautiful, refreshing content. Wishing you and your loved one health, happiness, peace and blessings. May you heal from all your ailments! 🙏

    1. Thank you SamSahana for your encouraging and beautiful comments! I’m actually a little older than that. LOL. Your comments about my writing and blog are truly a blessing. I’m so glad you are part of my writing journey. Peace and wonderful blessings to you.

      1. Little older? 😜 lol. 50-60 is barely old according to me.
In my definition, 90+ is old. That too, not too old to try something new and have some fun 😉

  3. I love the way you refer to yourself as ‘older’. And also how nonchalantly you mention the health struggles…. lots of hugs to you and the love of your life 💞💞

  4. As I’m reading this post my heart is touched to see how much you care for your love🤗. I also have a girlfriend I love & though we don’t see each other often because of COVID but she’s someone special to me.♥️

Wishing you all the best with the love of your life. God bless👏

    1. Thank you so much Mthobisi! And welcome to my blog! Yes, love is amazing and it can be difficult being separated. Wishing you peace and wonderful blessings. May you be reunited soon!
