Autumn’s Light

I’m surprised by how autumn’s light still encourages me,

the sun warming tree branches,

a brighter light unhindered

it is a matter of letting go,

isn’t it?

a crisp layer under my feet

we begin again,

refusing to yield

to the coming bluster

of winter wind.

  1. I understand what you mean with that encouraging autumn light. I don’t know what it is either. There is something in it that seems to push all the life that’s left into us before winter makes everything slow down.

  2. A little to early for me. 🙂 We’re currently enjoying the end of Spring and entering our beautiful Summer.

However, your opening line took my attention, and you know, you’re right: “I’m surprised by how autumn’s light still encourages me”. I’ll be looking forward to Autumn differently from now on. Thanks for sharing.
