May Light Shape Our Words

A poem will often carry my spirit into the mountains

where I hover

and pray over the land.

I did get glimpse once

of the healing so elusive

in our world today.

May rays of light continue

to shape our words

into prayers,

into poems

until the scars

vanish away.

Sun Reflections

I love how the sun reflects on the waves,

with the rhythm of covering

smooth rocks glistening

my thoughts travel through blue,

and seagull wings

in their shadows,

I’m meandering, drifting

through the Earth’s motion,

inwardly quiet

and calm.

A Windy Day by the Lake

In the wild wind down by the lake today, my hat blew off

and flew away, while the Mallard snickered

and the heron smiled silently.

I know he smiled,

he was holding back a laugh

I saw him with my own eyes,

no really, I did.

An Older Couple in Love

When we are talking and I look at your hair,

your mystery deepens, how

can the world be in a few strands

of black and grey, with a little bit

of brown?

how can one set of eyes

hold so many answers, give so many clues

making sense of our world,

and how do you still hold the fire

with skin so soft?

you intoxicate me….

New Light Lifted

The strength of our healing will never come from our shields,

or our bows launching

instead we will walk in a new light lifted

from the power of our flowers

and from the peace

of our streams,

flowing deep

within our spirits.

Mystical Waters

Mystical waters flowing through a wooded dream, carrying

my spirit infused

within the peace of spring,

into a green world

my heart reaches up

as my hand

reaches for my notebook,

phrases sing

and a poem walks boldly

into this new world,

completed.

Within the Heart

The simple yet sacred truth living

within the heart of a tulip

is that love still lingers,

and flows within our beings

carrying us

far beyond the darkest ruins

of our world,

of our lives

until we are refreshed,

it has always been this way.

Wind in the Leaves

Wind in the leaves brings healing

to my spirit,

yet, with this size wound

will I be able

to recover?

We all go through tough situations, all of us. Sometimes though the wounds become just too much.

I’m there now. My wife is ok, although she’s still getting treatments. I won’t go into details, but I am in need of healing. I’ve always been open and honest, so there it is.

The poet needs healing.

It may be days, or weeks, I don’t know. I may share some previous work until then.

If you ever get a message saying this is a private site it just means the break will be extensive.

I have two sources I go to for internal healing: nature and love. Yes of course there is God and faith but for me that is the love part.

I’m convinced God doesn’t have an AR-15.

And there’s my wife. She’s my best friend in the whole world.

So thank you for understanding, maybe the internal healing will come much sooner than I know. One can hope.

The Peace of Spring

When the peace of spring flows through me

I usually wait, and listen

in the quiet place,

in that part of me where I’m open

carrying a sense

of wonder
