The Intensity

With the intensity of orchids, our spirits are made alive again,

and memories

awaken us,

even to the music

and art

of the soul.

My Goals for 2018

100_1608

My most important goal for this coming year in the blogosphere, is to continue being a good blogging friend. I will only leave encouraging, kind comments. I have received many of these types of comments myself, and doing so for others simply makes good sense.

I will write of hope and healing, in the framework of nature, spirituality, and faith. A sense of peace is where I seek to dwell.

There is so much negativity in our world, I want my blog to be a javelin, thrown into the heart of darkness.

I will write of love. We all love love, don’t we? But I will not write work that is too risqué! I seek to honor God and my beautiful wife. Entangled arms and kisses on her neck, are about as far as my writing will take me.

And yes I do write a lot, simply from a love of writing. But I strive to make my posts of a high quality (to the best of my ability).

I will always place my faith, family, and even work above my blog.

Thank you for being here!!! Are you ready for 2018?

Let’s rock!

A Slow Fade

100_5601

You probably haven’t noticed but many of my readers have done a slow fade. A slow fade is when a reader, is very much involved, but then gradually fades away, never to be seen again.

Part of this is certainly natural, as our world changes, blogs change, people change. But many have migrated to social media, leaving WordPress far behind.

And unfortunately, I believe my blog is being manipulated in horrible ways. Because of that I’m losing interest.

The weirdest thing is when someone comes to my site, and then I follow them – many disappear in a flash. What???

Being a very positive person, I have ignored it, and pushed through it for a long time.

I really enjoy writing, and I love where my poems are now, and where they are heading.

Lately though, blogging has not been as much fun. Perhaps I’ve even been depressed, and that’s unusual for me.

My latest poem published, “In the Dakota Winds” is certainly the darkest poem I have ever written. This bothers me a great deal. I don’t want negativity in my spirit.

I write all of this because I am considering doing a slow fade, or retiring altogether.

I ask for your prayers and positive thoughts.

Hidden Treasure

apache-dancer-harley-upton-jr-diego-james-robles-from-indiancountrytodaymedianetwork

Did you know that I used to write fiction and it’s still posted here? Yep, I have a number of different stories, and series of fiction, and you can find them right here!

I loved writing about First Nations people, (Native Americans). Native American culture still sings to me, only not as strong as it used to. And I wrote in a historical sense, often pondering what it may have been like before the desolation.

I also enjoyed coming up with names for the characters, such as Cricket in the Meadow, Thunder Speaking, Two Wolves, and Sky.

Here is a sample from a series called, The Lost Son:

“Cricket in the Meadow prayed all night that night. She sensed the young man was in great danger, and she was unable to rest. She stepped outside several times to look at the night sky, and was amazed at how many stars she could see.

As she looked around the village, she saw other fires lit brightly within their lodges. Other people were awake too, moving around, no doubt praying as well. Among them was the lodge of Holds the Fire.

She had tears well up in her eyes then, so she closed them, and she prayed for healing…… for their family…..”

So how do you find this treasure? Go to the menu on my webpage (top right), and search using a few words, including the names listed above.

In the future I’ll share about my longest running fiction series, The Last People on Planet Earth, a sci-fi adventure, and love story.
