The Dogwoods Remember

20170503_163642

As the oak leaves grow strong,

the dogwoods remember their beauty

blooming so wonderfully,

while the azaleas ascend

with confidence.

Shades of Green

In the shades of green, in the explosion of color

we can be stunned by the beauty, filled

with the expectation

of a new beginning,

reflecting

on all

that has been made.

The Early Morning Light

20160514_120002

In the early morning light, leaves speak of peace

and a gentle rain

while a bumble bee hovers

watching me, as if I was intruding.

A chipmunk darts, when a pair of wings opens

and hops from one tree limb to another, hopeful.

“Will you release your prayer?” the crow seems to say,

I realize in the early morning light, of the deep forest…..

it is time.

Poetry….Came to Live

20160418_122232

It was the ruins. It had always been the ruins, curving his light, causing the blur….the whirl in his spirit.

He knew he was more though. Perhaps he did have an existence after all.

For him woodland trails were more than a healer, he wandered through half praying, because the woods were his teacher.

Waterfalls spoke, and God sent angels that could sense his scar tissue, providing a balm. He was different somehow.

Sprinkles from heaven began the new, and he was able to see the word structure clearly.

Within the wind and the sun he discovered lines. And poetry….came to live.
