Writer’s Light

As I write this, light dances through the window over my shoulder with shadows from the shades and pine trees moving across the wall. I realize I write a lot about these pine trees, and the red maples, oaks and poplar trees, as if there is a strength hidden.

I hold the hawks close to my heart, or it could be, just that one that likes to fly close to me, at eye level. It can see it now in a larger sense that courage takes wing and sometimes leaves a feather as a souvenir of victory. Sharing more than light, and clearly defining my true self.

The sun is now moving a little closer to the horizon, as I squint…..closing the shade.

One Wing and Then the Other

It was the same winter that courage from the sky was concealed, even sealed with a double layer of grey,

until blue finally broke through and I was convinced once again, of the power of my own breath, as evidence

so I raised one wing and then the other, until I was lifted

bowing my heart and my head to the One

who made everything, contained

under all the heavens.

Hawks breath always runs true.

Texting Heaven

I just received a text from Henry Vu, the Vietnamese angel I have mentioned before and he is tied up right now, someplace in Europe. He is hoping to drop by when he is finished his assignment, something about helping doctors and nurses….

and he’s working on getting permission from the Angel Command Center. You know how bureaucrats are. I digress….

He’s a cool guy with some amazing stories, so I hope he can make it.

There was the time he helped a Jewish family overcome the fear of Neo Nazis in the United States. And there was the time the Martinez family had a child in ICU…..anyway you get the idea.

Henry sent the photo above, and says it was taken in Brussels.

Peace out.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well it has been a difficult year, hasn’t it? Maybe the most difficult year in alot of ways.

And yet, looking foward there is alot of good just around the corner. A vaccine is not far away,

so the coronavirus will be dealt with and hopefully eliminated!

In the U.S. we have a newly elected president who can help to right so many of the wrongs of the past.

No American leader should ever support the Confederate flag or monuments. No one. They are symbols of treason and racism.

Anyway the list goes on for the healing we need as a people.

On a personal note, I’m grateful for healthcare so that my wife can receive the treatments she needs.

And that she is still here walking on this earth……with me. Yes we can still be thankful.

May we move forward, looking for and working towards the healing….we all so desperately need!

From our our house to yours……wishing you a happy, safe, healthy, and blessed Thanksgiving!

And I wish you peace.
