The Scent of Water and Trees

There is a warm breeze now, slowly pushing its way over the lake,

holding a scent of water and trees, coming to rest

on my face. I look up seeking the revelation of sky in my life

never ending yet within my soul, I reach

for the pen that’s filling itself once again.

I marvel at words, trying not to gasp

holding the photograph

in my mind, I begin again

to write.

A Day in the Life III

20180930_130130

Well I don’t have a sandwich to talk about today, but I am looking forward to some roasted red pepper hummus, on some pita bread,

whole wheat of course. And some sparkling water with some lemon-lime flavoring will be a special treat.

I’ve been realizing that I’m pushing too hard again. There are a lot of hours at work, a number of doctor’s appointments, and blogging too.

Please remember I’m not a professional blogger. I need rest, just like I write about!

In the most ancient of times, the One who made us all, the One who has always been,

told us to take a break once in awhile. One day in seven sounds great to me!

I’ll post a little, and be back to reading your great posts in a few days.

Now all I need is a spoon for this excellent hummus.

Wishing you peace! Stay healthy!

Somewhere in the Wind

20180930_123817

Even in the cold grey dawn, poets will often search

the shoreline, looking for a glimpse of wordflow, in the silence listening

releasing any bitterness to receive it as a soft rain begins washing their spirits,

stunned here and there, at the beauty of a simple phrase……or a line.

And somewhere in the wind…..there’s a story.
