Courageous Light

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”

Edith Wharton

Who do you know that needs some encouragement today? You can be the light or reflect it!

I’m sure there’s someone that needs your kind words, your peace, your light. Be courageous today and spread some of your light.

Wishing you peace.

Save Yourselves

If you are in a church that preaches against the vaccine, or against the wearing of masks, run

or walk safely, but very quickly to the nearest exit.

Save yourselves.

Otherwise

there might not be a hospital bed for you

when you really need it.

Faith can be very beautiful when blended with taking precautions.

Please be safe and healthy!

Modern Love

As they stood in line waiting to get in, each person stood 6 feet apart, looking at their phones, or their grocery list.

He heard a noise behind him, and a young woman was bending over, picking up her keys. When she stood up, he wanted to shout from the rooftops, “You look amazing!”

but instead he went for softer touch with, “I love your mask!” It worked. Her eyes smiled as she relaxed. And it was a beautiful mask, white with swirls of green,

black, and just a hint of blue. It was like a work of art really. He didn’t know it, but she had been staring at him, and that’s why she had dropped her keys.

There was something about a guy’s shoulder muscles that always threw her for a loop. They started talking about cooking and food.

She loved the fact that he liked Thai food. They started letting other people go around them and they exchanged names and phone numbers.

As they parted he had forgotten what he needed to shop for and she headed to the nearest restroom so she could take off her mask and breathe again! She also splashed some cold water on her face.

Several days later they were zooming and started really getting to know each other. She was thinking, “Finally a guy who cares about more than just my body….”

And he was thinking, She’s so gorgeous!” And they both looked forward to that day, when they could touch……and actually hold each other.

Colors Fill My Pages

20180707_164603

I’ve decided to take a break from blogging here. After yesterday’s disaster with posting “Our Spirit Wings.” I decided it needed to happen.

I think there was a technical issue with it. However, I also hadn’t changed my password in awhile, and when that happens, disaster strikes every time.

So I need to step back because there are just way too much shenanigans on my site at the moment.

The fact is though, I love your posts and blogs, so this was a tough decision to make. And as you know I love writing. Colors fill my pages.

I’ll also be writing more short stories and working on my novel. Maybe even a poetry book!

I have also been exercising more, and devoting more time to self improvement, including reading and even yoga. Or at least I call it yoga!

I’m spending more time now with my wife, and I will in the future as she goes through another series of treatments.

Now, this does not mean I’ll be disappearing completely. I’ll be more part time when I come back.

Photography, my other hobby, will play a more vital role.

I plan to eventually return more fully.

Thank you so much! I appreciate each of you!

Wishing you peace.

A Day in the Life III

20180930_130130

Well I don’t have a sandwich to talk about today, but I am looking forward to some roasted red pepper hummus, on some pita bread,

whole wheat of course. And some sparkling water with some lemon-lime flavoring will be a special treat.

I’ve been realizing that I’m pushing too hard again. There are a lot of hours at work, a number of doctor’s appointments, and blogging too.

Please remember I’m not a professional blogger. I need rest, just like I write about!

In the most ancient of times, the One who made us all, the One who has always been,

told us to take a break once in awhile. One day in seven sounds great to me!

I’ll post a little, and be back to reading your great posts in a few days.

Now all I need is a spoon for this excellent hummus.

Wishing you peace! Stay healthy!

A Day in the Life II

20160606_164850Today’s sandwich is chicken salad and the cheese is some really spicy, jalapeno and cayenne pepper cheese.

This is milder than I thought, but definitely hotter than pepper jack.

We also ventured out today to an organic farm, and picked up some produce. And the other day we were at an organic dairy farm for meat and dairy products.

A ride in the country is always good! I really don’t have the inspiration for a poem today, life is busy.

And that’s something I wanted to mention. I’m still out there working, and not from home. Sometimes I work alot of hours.

No I’m not a medical professional, but I have to be there. Yes, we take precautions but I’m very concerned

about my wife’s condition and her immune system. The other day I drove her to her appointment for treatment.

I did think of retiring from blogging but you know what? I love writing, it’s who I am!

And I love your posts! So I’m still working out some modifications.

Now back to my sandwich. Wow, this cheese is great! And the wheat bread is fabulous.

Peace.

The Primal Dawn

20191109_154744

It was one of those primal dawns,

with the world not yet awake,

and a chill

in the cold night air still lingering,

the earth was so quiet pausing

without rotation,

without wild revelations

only the beginning of the sun

in the quiet of the night ending

bringing a thrill, a wholeness,

even without chimes,

until one single robin began

to sing her chorus,

lifting the sun even higher……

and eventually

a new day began.
