In the New Day of the Forest

Somehow it was the light through the leaves that caught my attention, I paused…..realizing I could hope again,

I closed my eyes and at first a prayer took shape, and then my wordflow began to be born again.

A poem spun, dancing in the sunlight as I stood amazed,

in the new day of the forest….

Breaking Open the Sky

This gift she has, this way of looking forward with her wingspan extended, breaking open the sky so that healing can surge…..and yet there are times where we both need the mountains, some time for walking

and restoration, or talking or even just silently watching new rivers take shape. Fortunately fragments in her wings don’t take long to remove, but make no mistake, I’m not the eagle here.

As the wind in our wings lifts both of us, I guess it’s true about couples. We heal each other, and always have.

I know I wouldn’t have it any other way. Amen.

Notations

Our cherry tree is blossoming again, so for us spring is officially here! The vaccines are here too, so we can finally begin to move forward, even if it is slower than we would like.

I thought it would be a good time to mention a few things about my blog. Such as, I normally post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with some on the weekends. However I’ve been adding a little more here and there simply because.

I once again want to say, all are welcomed here, regardless of your background, race, country of origin etc. except for bullies. No bullies are allowed here!

I don’t approve linking or “links” to my posts. I’ve had terrible technical difficulty with my faith based site, “Walking through Psalms” and I believe it is related to my approving these things in the past.

I don’t do awards anymore, I simply do not have the time to participate. They are fun though.

My wife and I are older, yet very much in love. A lot of shenanigans can take place in blogging. I avoid that as much as I can.

One time years ago a young woman sent me emails to flirt with me, and she included pictures! Fortunately I recognized it immediately for what it was – malicious. She was being malicious.

I could write a lot more today but I’ve decided it can all wait……..except for one thing.

Thank you for reading!

Wishing you peace.

Building New Foundations

It amazes me how we can walk through the fire looking back at how we used to be strong, or how we hold onto the one we love, and that love can push us forward beyond what we ever imagined……

we not only survive but we build new foundations, because the old framework was never meant to sustain us.

As you may know my wife has had cancer for many years, off and on. She will be on chemo for a very long time. You may not know that she recently had some small tumors show up where they are not supposed to be! So to be truthful it is easy to go down the bitterness road or the fear road, but we decided to go down the trust road. Meaning trusting in God.

You see our faith not only helps us, but becomes a type of a certain foundation. Never assume a person of faith is a nitwit or naïve. You have no idea what they have been through. And my wife and I want nothing to do extremist politics, which is totally off target. I’m speaking of a heart filled with love.

Back to those small tumors……they turned out to be benign! So we didn’t have to walk through the fire this time……and we thank God for that. A small yet important victory.
