I once saw peace peeking through the willow tree, light speaking
clearly saying to hold on, to carry hope,
to keep courage,
close
to my heart.

Peace, love, joy, hope, are all such beautiful parts of our human experience any time of year, but somehow they are especially prominent around Christmastime. Or at least they should be!
And there’s so much light. This is not a religious blog, or even a faith based one and yet, once a year I allow myself some celebrating! I always respect other faiths and people with no faith. That’s who I am as a person.
I’ve mentioned Christmas because I have somewhat of my own tradition here. I share some fiction for a few days. What?? You write fiction too Nico? Yep, I sure do! I love sharing little pieces of light, so I hope you enjoy them this coming week. And I will spread out some poetry throughout. Can you tell I’m having a good time?
Are you curious about some of the fiction? Well there’s Henry Vu, a Vietnamese angel. And there’s Rosa Gonzalez who has a visit from her dead mother. I might also throw in some romance too, such as a story called Popcorn and Tattoos. So hang on!
If you are looking for a more faith based site, I have one you can check out. What??? Yep, it’s true.

Peace, and may the vaccine get here soon!

Words sifting, shaping, even ascending
through my heart
from the gentle depths,
of blue softly whispering
from a day of rest,
spirit expanding,
stretching forth
as if it was new.

Note: I’ve made some space on the site, but it’s a temporary fix.
I couldn’t think of what to write today so I drifted towards the sea, sunlight sparkling, reflecting.
Powerful insights of the vastness….ocean’s blue. Seagulls barked complaining, but I was already in my meditation pose,
with my spirit following and I remembered the light given…how the refracting light through the trees of a forest, brings life.
Light opening even the smallest flower.
Eyes closed, I breathed again…

Softer than jade and much more alive, oak leaves became his treasure that day, as a mystical wind
blew quietly through the trees, and sparrow song created a sacred space,
speaking…through the trees, of emerald poems and diamonds embedded…
in his prayers.

Leaves dance to the rhythm of the rain, while tree limbs sway and I realize,
something within me enjoys the wildness of the storm, thunder rolls and boils in the sky,
yet I’m not afraid, instead…amazed how creation nourishes the earth, as the rain becomes gentle again.

Today millions of Christians around the world will be celebrating Easter, the resurrection of Christ.
It is a season of new life. If you keep this day, may God bless you and fill you with faith and goodness.
And my Jewish friends are celebrating Passover. It is a time of remembering their freedom from slavery.
The term “Passover” comes from the night the angel of death “passed over” the people, sparing their lives. Did you know that?
I have a number of faiths represented here and I’m very glad you’re here!
By the way the cherry blossoms and tulips are in full bloom, and the earth is bursting with spring.
Peace to each one and great blessings.
