The Power of Beauty

20170628_165644

Over each meadow and mountain, our nation awoke today

to a brighter sun,

as some of the chaos

some of the hatred

was pulled away

in our choosing to come together

embracing our healing,

each one of our colors

as if we were flowers holding

the power of beauty

within our hearts.

In diversity there is strength.

Available Thunder

20160514_175849

Lacking the available thunder, we remain hopeful

surveying the evidence increasing,

we make our case,

giving our voice

to the truth.

(Regarding the Impeachment Trial)

One thing is for certain, and that is that one day the Grandchildren and the Great Grandchildren of some of today’s Republican Senators will ask,

“Why Grandpappy……why…..did you lie during the Impeachment Trial? “Why did you protect such a terrible leader….one who was only concerned about himself??

Why Grandpappy? There will be no good answer, only silence….there will be no excuse…..

What a terrible thing to do. What a horrible way to live.

The True Strength of Leadership

20170915_164726

Maybe God is preparing us for strong women leaders,

morally sound, committed

to our democracy

to our people

principles we all have

etched in our hearts,

especially when men fall

far, far astray,

following darkness

instead of the light….

Note: I’m not advocating for Elizabeth Warren. There are many women, that would make an excellent president. Amy Klobachar?

Accountable

20170916_121457

Did you know our constitution established 3 different branches of government?

There is the Congress, the judiciary, and the president. Each are to be co-equal.

And that it’s the job of the Congress to control the purse strings of government?

as well as hold the president accountable? It’s in the constitution.

Ain’t that something? It’s their job.

You see in the colonial times they were very concerned about the president having too much power,

having had some bad experiences with tyranny and the King of England.

So now, today, if we don’t hold the president accountable, where is our democracy?

The Night of Dragons

100_5345

Fur coated dragons drifted into the kingdom during the night, along with a fresh coat of ice.

Snow swirled from time to time, giving a false sense of innocence to the difusion of light.

Yet the dragons only carried a holy fire, so the people were not afraid when the fires broke out.

They had waited so very long for deliverance, from leaders gone rogue, only the guilty were burned.

The people were sober, it was not a time to rejoice, but they knew what the dragons had done, was right.

And the fur coated dragons returned to their kingdom, in the cover of night. The ice remained, yet silent.

Snow swirled from time to time, giving a false sense of innocence.
