Earth Day 2019

20160514_175724

And the sins of the fathers are being visited on us their children,

while the Earth continues to be ripped and torn,

I can’t help but think of the people lost,

swept away by storms,

from the changes in our air,

as dark clouds still gather

while ignorant bullies hide

their head in the sand,

lacking even a speck

of empathy.

How many more people

will be lost?

What Would He Say?

20170503_164915

If God himself came down to bring judgment on our nation what would He say to the rich attempting to remove healthcare from the poor?

Many with pre-existing conditions?

What would He say to leaders still putting brown children in cages?

What would He say to White Nationalists, some in government or even in media, continuing to spread hatred, inciting violence?

What would He say to leaders refusing to acknowledge the devastation of our climate changing, putting us all in danger and in harm’s way?

What would He say to a leader that lies about paying off women to keep quiet, about having sex with them?

And most of all what would he say to the people calling faith their home, as they bow down to their vulgar conservative idol, doing all they can to protect him, simply because he is called conservative?

What in heaven’s name would God say?

The Angels Know

20170628_172233

The angels know that slavery comes from the hearts evil men, not really from our southern border, and that drugs are shipped sneaking through our ports of entry, stamped with approval.

I wonder if heaven weeps over the poor….needing jobs, needing some food….needing to escape violence….

I sure hope so.

“El Paso has been one of the safest cities for the past 20 years.”

The Fortress

large-fort

It was snowing that night the wall was completed, not many noticed, tired of the fight.

Yet some conservatives rejoiced in their victory, believing the Enemy was defeated and that they could rest in their holiness once again.

However, the angels in Texas, bowed their heads with tears in their eyes,

began praying for all those stuck inside the Fortress, for those believing that somehow,

in some way, they were righteous, and so having turned their backs

on the poor.

Yet Within Our Scars

100_1708

Lying and fear often make difficult lovers

and even worse neighbors,

preferring themselves instead

of another,

so we pull back

our tenderness don’t we?

At least until we feel safe again

we pretend not to care.

Yet within our scars

builds a determination

or something

vaguely seeming to be hope,

so we press forward again,

straight into the wind

and then

we go vote.

Note: Please remember to vote on November 6th. We need to each do our part to help stop the madness, and strife.
