Happy International Women’s Day!

Today, like many around the world I’m celebrating International Women’s Day! We are celebrating the achievements of women.

And you know what? I’m ready for some women leaders to govern our world. Wars and dictators would be far fewer, I’m convinced of that!

Imagine a world of gender equality. You think we have that in the U.S.? Nope, we don’t. And parts of the world are much worse. So it’s time, past time to do some lifting up.

Celebrate women today.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Courage in the Mirror

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently.”

Maya Angelou

When you looked in the mirror today, what did you see? Did you see someone that can make a difference in this world? You are someone that can not only survive, but you can thrive and be a source of strength for others.

And always remember…..you are never alone. Not ever.

Practice courage today.

Peace.

People in My Neighborhood #2

Named for the Blessed Mother, you can still see her sitting on her front porch on warm days

a small wave, a big smile, does she remember my name? It doesn’t matter.

She also tends her flowers in the yard, even though her husband

is gone now, never alone she still holds onto God,

with her soft voice lifting prayers,

a gentle spirit,

and a cornerstone

of our community.

Even….in her nineties.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well it has been a difficult year, hasn’t it? Maybe the most difficult year in alot of ways.

And yet, looking foward there is alot of good just around the corner. A vaccine is not far away,

so the coronavirus will be dealt with and hopefully eliminated!

In the U.S. we have a newly elected president who can help to right so many of the wrongs of the past.

No American leader should ever support the Confederate flag or monuments. No one. They are symbols of treason and racism.

Anyway the list goes on for the healing we need as a people.

On a personal note, I’m grateful for healthcare so that my wife can receive the treatments she needs.

And that she is still here walking on this earth……with me. Yes we can still be thankful.

May we move forward, looking for and working towards the healing….we all so desperately need!

From our our house to yours……wishing you a happy, safe, healthy, and blessed Thanksgiving!

And I wish you peace.

America the Beautiful

We have such a beautiful country, don’t we?

The other day my wife and I were driving near our home when we noticed a woman walking, dressed in traditional clothing, perhaps from Africa.

Yet Africa’s not a country, did you know that? There are many countries,

thousands of cultures and languages there. And this lady was wearing some beautiful clothing, with bright colors.

And later in the day My Love and I were on our front porch speaking of love and whatever the future holds,

when a neighbor walked by with her grandson. She’s a good neighbor, and from Indonesia.

Such a beautiful country we are.

Well unless you consider…..the militias. The ugliness of far right extremists, in love with their assault rifles,

intimidating voters, spinning bizarre ideas, many hating brown or black people.

Stop the far right extremists, stop the hate, stop the lies.

Keep America beautiful,

and free.

VOTE.
