I’ll Always Remember

I’ll always remember our romance in Maine, My Love

the wildness of the sea

the embrace

of the tallest evergreens.

Draping a blanket over the picnic table

and how the northern sun played,

dancing in your hair.

**

Later there was the beautiful feel of cold sheets, and wrapping ourselves

snuggling,

in warm homemade quilts.

Your sigh,

and smiling in your sleep.

Who could forget?

I’ll always remember our romance,

in Maine My Love.

Oceans Remembered

What I remember most about the ocean is that you can let your spirit glide out over the surface of the water into infinity,

or is it that the infinity is within us? Either way, with the ocean and the rhythm of the waves, both are possible I think. And somehow

the concept of God

is unmistakable.

Waves Washing Sand

20190719_151340

Waves washing sand, with seashells tumbling, hypnotized by the rhythm,  soon I’m dreaming…..of primordial beginnings,

life formed in the green, tinged with blue, in drifting clouds, and volcanic formations….

of ash and lava, so long ago….with the waves boiling, swirling……steam, when the earth was new……wait,

is that a pair of dolphins playing and splashing? I drift back to the planet’s rotation realizing,

love was created too, even for this young pair.

Memories in the Waves

20190719_151339

Sunlight on the waves, and seagulls declaring their glory remind me of so many summers ago.

Of rafting in the ocean, and fishing in the twilight. Of swimming in the waves, ducking under

and the 14 year old me, being liked by the brown haired girl. I wished I had asked her name.

Of Dad and I walking the boardwalk. Of fried chicken dinners, and so many shadows of him

still living here, as I walk barefoot in the wet sand.

Lord God, I do miss him, but thank you for my Dad.

Happy Father’s Day.
