The Strength of Our Poetry

20170628_140704

The strength of our poetry does not depend only

on our maneuvering of words

but the depth of our wounds,

and being filled overwhelmingly

with the healing.

Grey Sky Blue Sky

20170726_162120

The sky was grey this morning, and I couldn’t find the words anywhere,

until I took the weight off my shoulders,

lifted a prayer

and stopped trying to save the world.

Then my grey sky turned blue,

words landed, took shape

and I could even write a poem

or two.

The Sense of Quiet

20180204_121733

Somehow in the snow, there’s a flow within us, as if the silence covers over the noise of this world,

releasing our inner person to finally feel our mystical bond with the created Earth, with the spirit we’ve all been given.

In the quietness, actually snow does make a sound, if you listen very carefully,

but the sense of quiet holds a unique peace like nothing else, that touches us deeply. Oneness.

Perhaps that is the most amazing thing about snow……

we truly sense the wholeness of who we are, and how…..we fit into this world.

Note: We’ve had very little snow but it has been grey for weeks, and cold.

Love Always Wins

20180930_130130

Death will not speak to us when we lift our poems

as banners waving in the wind,

our words we will fling

like javelins

straight into the heart

of darkness

into the Goliath we call hate

and in the end,

we win,

because love always wins.

This

is our warfare.

May Your Courage Run Strong

20190427_101241

May your courage run strong, even in the crumbling desolation of our world.

May your art run like rivers in your veins, overflowing to those around you.

May your every fear be defeated as you choose to love anyway!

May you be blessed living in the light, taking back the night.

You know what to do. Yes, you do.

Blessings!
