A Time That Never Was

20170628_132524

So what is our determination? To live as one nation?

Or to sleep with our assault rifles, dreaming of a time that never was, and when not everyone was truly free?

A time filled with black and white TV showing us soap commercials

and that she’s a good wife keeping his shirts clean?

Stop dreaming.

If you really want to live the 2nd Ammendment

go buy a musket.

We’ll all be safer that way.

No one needs

an assault rifle,

no one. Wake up

and smell the coffee.

Great Leadership Defined

cleveland

A great leader is courageous yet filled with compassion, strong yet willing to yield, driven by wisdom and committed to the greater good. A person of the people, willing to sacrifice for others.

Thank you God, for the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Each year I post as a way of remembering Dr. King. Now more than ever, may we seek leaders with values like his. May we remember, and continue the work.

Please Pray

100_5492

I love my country, but what we need more than ever, is healing

not strife or yelling, no more insulting or taking

shots, simple, plain healing

perhaps

some humility

so simple – and yet

so difficult.

Please pray.

Independent

100_1605

I’m changing my political affiliation. I was very conservative years ago and yes a Republican. But over time I changed, and my views changed. I became more concerned about people, poverty, and that everyone – should have access to healthcare.

I wasn’t seeing that in the far right, in fact I distinctly saw a lack of compassion, or at least that is what I thought I saw. My wife surviving cancer, and having difficult health problems for years, had a big part to play in my views changing.

And Democrats are far on the other side, believing some things I don’t, but at least I saw a move towards caring about people. Again that was my perception and still is.

The rhetoric in both camps is horrendous, but my opinion is, that it is far worse on the right than it is on the left. The right loves to make personal attacks against people, including our President, and I simply cannot stand it anymore.

So I have no choice really but to vote with a conscience that is independent. And I have not mentioned Trump or Clinton, because I really don’t like either one. I wish I had someone to vote for right now.

Perhaps this is how Independents are born.

Note: This is not a normal post so I will be sending out some poetry later! For now the comments are open.

Peace.

“Where liberty dwells, there is my country.”

Ben Franklin

Happy 4th of July everyone! As America celebrates its freedom and independence, may we continue to work for freedom and peace, in our world. Ben Franklin was right, we should all live in a place, where liberty dwells.

Have a great week creating, and making our world a more beautiful place!

As the war of words rages

on TV, the world still waits

for an America that makes sense,

pulling out of the grey stopping

the blur, I love my country

but we don’t have the answers now

we have lost our way.
