Our Graduates

From a graduation speech I heard:

“In my opinion, our generation has failed you. We pass the torch to you now. So that you can bring us back…… together.”

General Philip M. Breedlove

Former Supreme Allied Commander, Europe

Our Reflections

Our reflections, our images of who we are, have become marred

distorted, nearly impossible to see our faces now,

with the ripples of fear stealing

one important principle –

loving our neighbor

as ourselves.

And who is our neighbor?

Speak Peace

As we shake our heads not trusting, let us hope that this time will be one of healing,

and not another way to fight. Our words do matter, so let us speak peace

into our wounded world, and believe in each other.

The Sages So Ancient

It’s easy to call down fire on those on the far left, and those on the far right

as if we were prophets judging their sins

but hopefully we will listen to the sages so ancient,

the ones that declared

“Love your neighbor, as yourself.”

The Truly Great Heart

“There never was any heart truly great and generous, that was not also tender and compassionate.”

Robert Frost

How will you share your great and generous heart today?  Someone needs your encouraging words.

quote from Robert Frost

They say the fields are ready for harvesting now,

but some of our leaders became confused

having sown the wrong seeds, the ones

producing weeds, the choking weeds,

instead of life giving fruit

we so desperately need.

If we reach in far enough though,

we can find the seeds

that do grow life, the kind

that search for soil,

but that’s another poem,
