Get Back Up Again

Do you ever get discouraged? I do. I think we all do. Regardless of what we face in life, such as broken relationships, financial loss, and even blog stats taking a severe downturn 😦  we can not only live through it, we can keep going. Fortunately I married the most beautiful woman on the planet (inside and out) and she encourages me to keep fighting.

I love the fact that there is always something that motivates us on the inside, to get back up. Some use positive thinking, some have faith, but we all have something in us that tells us not to quit. And if someday I don’t have a blog, I will still keep going. And I will have a lot more free time! But to be honest, I blog because I love to write. Thanks for reading!

Here is a song, be careful with your ears!

Her Violin Sings

In this video Lindsey Stirling is in New Zealand, and to be honest the scenery, and cinematography here is some of the most of beautiful I have seen! Gorgeous! The music is wonderful too. Even though the music is from the Lord of the Rings, there is nothing else from the movie here, so that’s why I gave the post the title, Her Violin Sings. By the way Lindsey actually sings here as well.

I’ve never been to New Zealand, but it’s on my list now, of a must see.

This video is inspiring. Have a great week!

First Friday – Touch the Sky

It’s the first Friday of the month! The experiment last week with the First Friday idea went very well. So here is some beautiful, faith based music. Tonight I plan to post something from the Psalms. This is a once a month feature.

I like this group, and I love this song. In this version of it there is no audience except us. They are in a cafe and it reminds me of some friends getting together, playing some music. There are no rock stars here. This song is very rich with meaning. On the one hand it is mellow, but it is also inspirational, especially towards the end. The words are incredible poetry, and are about connecting to the Creator through prayer.

Here are some of the lyrics:

My heart beating,

my soul breathing,

I found my life,

when I layed it down,

upward falling,

spirit soaring,

I touch the sky,

when my knees hit the ground.

Have a great weekend!

Peace.

First Fridays – Blessings

So I have this idea for the first Friday of each month. Yes I know it’s not August yet, but today is an experiment. The idea I have is that one day a month, I play music like this, have some commentary, or maybe some words from the Book of Psalms. I have faith and you can see that in the blog, but I know preaching makes people uncomfortable. I don’t like it either. Well ok, maybe once in a great while! You signed up for nature poems, love poems, quotes, and some stories with good endings, and I love writing in these ways. This is a creative writing blog. Yet there can be incredible beauty in faith.

So today I will see what kind of interest there is. You let me know. I really enjoy your comments, so please feel free.

This song by Laura Story is so incredibly beautiful, I really wanted to share it with you. I love the poetry here. We all go through tough times. Maybe there really is healing, in the tears.

River Flows in You

A simple video with extremely beautiful music. I love Lindsey Stirling’s music but sometimes simplicity is even more beautiful than special effects. This video is done with a violin and harp. Let your spirit soar.

Have a great rest of the week!

Peace.

Traditional Irish Music

Happy Saturday! I’m in a mellow mood tonight. When I think of being mellow, I often think of Irish music. If you are worn out and in need of some rest, may today and tomorrow give you the rest you need!

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

This video is a beautiful tribute to George Harrison and the Beatles. When I listened to this song recently (after many years) I was amazed with the words. They are rich with meaning, and there is a lamenting here over the lack of love in our world for one another. I especially like the line of “I see the love there that’s sleeping.” It is deeply spiritual, and compassionate. Here are the words to it:

I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping,

while my guitar gently weeps,

I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping,

still my guitar gently weeps.

I don’t know why nobody told you,

how to unfold your love,

I don’t know how someone controlled you,

they bought and sold you.

I look at the world and I notice it’s turning,

while my guitar gently weeps,

with every mistake we must surely be learning,

still my guitar gently weeps.

Well…I don’t know how you were diverted,

you were perverted too,

I don’t know how you were inverted,

no one alerted you.

I look at you all see the love that’s sleeping,

while my guitar gently weeps,

look at you all,

still my guitar gently weeps.

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

The Strength of the Mountain

mountain and lake

There is a calling in each of us,

to find the mountain,

the treasure,

the place of beauty and peace.

In the mountain,

we can see past,

the pine trees, the oaks,

the owls greeting us,

beyond the physical,

searching,

in the crevices,

we can find the treasure,

buried in us.

If I look deep enough,

if I dig into my soul,

I find the answers,

walking through the serenity,

the rivers and streams,

rocks for strength,

I see clearly,

looking up,

there are no limits.

If there is a storm,

there is always a refuge,

a path,

that leads to His strength,

the source of life.

I want to live, in the mountain,

He has given me.

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!
