When who we were blends with who we are now, a beautiful synthesis

shapes our phrases, and our wordflow forms

a new creation.

Never losing

who we truly are.

Well my attempt at simply sharing archives did not work. There were no technical problems. Yet I would look at the old poem and change it just a little.

And little more, and a little bit more…..and you get the idea. A synthesis, creating something completely new.

I guess in a way people are like that too…..always new yet not losing the core

of who we are.

Art Blending

I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the series, The Colors of the Night Sky!

This was an exciting, pushing back the boundaries time for me. It was something new, and I purposely blended different types of writing.

Did you know you can blend different genres? I think science fiction, fantasy, and romance, work well together.

I also blended some poetry with prose, especially in the first piece.

Colors infused was something I enjoyed trying also. Don’t you just love purple?

Now I have a decision to make. I’ve ended the series here, but there is so much missing……

due to squeezing in the story into the wordpress format. I need to go further with this story, stretching my wings, developing and filling in the rest of the story.

Fiction is not most popular type of post, and I think the least favorite with readers.

That showed up big time in my blog this past week but I expected it.

So….I will cut back a little here while I think about it.

I love writing so thank you for reading!

We have a whole week ahead for creating! Ok, we do need to work as well, but have a great time this week, as you open up your laptops, get out your paintbrushes, and cameras!

When our hearts are filled with love we can create something beautiful, and we can impact our world for good. I look forward to spreading some positivity!

Have a great week, creating, and being filled with light.

Creating from the colors implanted, we give

from our sense of wonder and into the flow,

even if we do not realize our source

is from the One who made us

allowing us to take the credit,

sharing in, and yes enjoying our creation.

We are creators giving, and reflecting His image,

creating something beautiful.

My Blogging Secrets

Mountains and Rivers 397

Ok shhh! Move in closer, next to the screen. There now, I’m about to tell you some of my secrets!

Secret #1 – I use my own photographs! Wait! I know what you’re thinking, that’s not really a secret, because you know that already, but let me tell you why I use my own photos (most of the time).

There was a concern about copyrights, and when I thought about that, I realized I was not giving myself enough credit, for being an artist/photographer. I had thousands of photographs, many of which are suitable for the blog. They are not of the best quality, and I don’t have a lot of expensive equipment, but they usually work out well.

Another reason I use my own photographs is that it is a HUGE time saver. When I first started, I found I was spending hours looking for the right photograph! It took longer to find photos than it did to write the post.

Secret #2 – Email and Bookmarks. I find another big time saver is not relying on email, to check messages. I simply use WordPress, and if I have to (because WordPress isn’t working) I use email as a backup. Also – I use bookmarks for sites that I don’t see often in my reader. I simply click and I am there to check on someone else’s site.

Secret #3 – Somehow, and I don’t really know how, I developed my own style of writing. Maybe you could call it “my voice”. It just happened over time. But I want to always be learning and growing. I write from a flow, so I guess my point is, just be yourself. See what style you have and create something from who you are!

Enjoy your blogging!

Peace and have a great rest of the week!

A Quote about Writing

Maine and More 198

The act of writing is an act of optimism. You would not take the trouble to do it if you felt it didn’t matter.

Edward Albee

Edward Albee is a playwright, and he realized something along the way. Even though many of us writers are cynical, the act of writing is hopeful, and looks forward. Actually, any creative adventure is optimistic. Taking the time to create, says that creating is important. It is about creating something new, something that has life. In a very real sense, we make something out of nothing.

A potter can take a lump of clay, and with time and effort, he or she makes a beautiful creation (hopefully!). Writing is like that too. And when we are finished, it may not be exactly as we planned, but we know that it came from us. It has a small part of us in it. It lives on.

That is, in a tangible way, very optimistic. Creating is the process of making something beautiful, and giving life to it. What could be more positive? So enjoy creating some beauty today!

I wish you peace.

A Few Thoughts on Writing Fiction

beauty allswomenstalk

Fiction is a hard sell. In other words, poetry, photography, and art, are going to do much better in the blogging world, than a piece of fiction, but there is a simple, and wonderful reason for that. There are so many incredible blogs, with such outstanding work, that we long to take it all in. So if you do like I do, I go through the reader, just amazed, and I go on to the next post quickly.

Fiction takes a lot of time to read, and when we post it, we are asking the reader to invest time in us, and our work. So with that in mind, I try to keep my segments short. I would like them to be a little over four hundred words, but they always go over it. I cringe when I start hitting six hundred words, because I know I need to make it worth the investment the reader is making.

But I love, love, writing fiction. Several of you have asked me to continue with the Last People series, and that is a huge thrill for me. I am enjoying this series more than any other series I have written. The two main characters are so different from one another, and yet they love each other in amazing ways. I wanted it to be that way. It also gives me a wonderful opportunity to explore culture. If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you know how I love other cultures and people!

By the way, Robert and Belinda, from the Escape series, wanted me to tell you hello. They are still down in the Dominican Republic, and working on getting married. Don’t expect to get a postcard from them though, they are going to be busy!
