Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! This weekend around the world millions of people are celebrating the risen Christ. New life, and the defeat of death are amazing to think about.

And Happy Passover to all my Jewish friends! You know, without the Passover, today’s celebration of Easter would never have happened. God saved His people from death and pulled them from slavery in a dramatic way.

You see Jesus was Jewish. He grew up Jewish and celebrated Jewish holidays, including Passover! Isn’t that amazing? And the Last Supper was actually a Passover Seder. Did you know that?

I also have a lot of friends here from a number of faiths. I’m so happy to say that, and I’m so glad you’re here. You are a wonderful part of my blog! Thank you!

May each of us enjoy this season of renewal and rebirth. The Earth is becoming new again!

Peace and wonderful blessings to each of you.

Happy Easter

Fiction inspired by facts.

It was dark, it was damp, and cold. Nothing could be heard except a drop of water dripping from somewhere, once every few seconds. Was He dead really? Yes a number of people had handled His body, and they did not see Him breathing. His skin was cold, blue, and as hard as a rock. Wounds no longer bled.

But at some point, here in this cave, the earth began to shake, and somehow there was a light that pierced the thick walls of the cave. Heaven opened and broke down the doors of death, while angels sang. The intensity of the light was so bright nothing else could be seen, but the great work of restoration began.

His skin began to soften and what was left of his heart and lungs was made whole. A heartbeat, His first in days, shook the ground like thunder, as the demons fled. Pumping now, blood flowing, and then it happened………He took his first breath, or His first new breath. The stone was rolled away, with the light from inside bursting out.

It was from this point on that His followers would never be the same. Peter told Him three times he loved Him, undoing the denial. It is reported that Thomas took three days to recover from touching the Savior. He was in shock.

One thing is for certain. They spent the rest of their lives declaring:

Friday Night Culture – Faith

It is Good Friday. This weekend millions of people around the world will celebrate Easter, some in a secular way, but many will have faith burning brightly. And Easter in many places is a part of our culture.

But I hesitate this time of year, and at Christmas, because this is not a faith based blog, and it never has been. Many bloggers are much better at sharing their faith than I am. This is a creative writing blog, that’s the way I have designed it.

I also tend to be very accepting of different views. The fact is, I love and respect all people, and I love different cultures, and I always will. Sometimes I would rather talk to a Buddhist, than a fundamentalist Christian, depending on the people of course. That’s just who I am.

Experiencing love and compassion within a faith though can be so beautiful. I have selected two songs that I hope you will enjoy. They are heart songs really, of looking for the One who made us.

I know in my own life there have been a number of times, I have felt very alone, and even for forsaken, especially in the past several years, but faith and the love of my family keeps me going.

I’ll be posting some more this weekend, including some ancient poems which I love.

Happy Easter everyone! And regardless of your faith, I wish you peace!
