Happy Mother’s Day

20200407_134902This year perhaps more than any other, we need to honor and thank our Mothers.

Thanking them for who they are, and how much they mean to us. She not only carried you in her body,

but in most cases she has loved you as only a Mother could. She has carried you, in her heart.

You will always be her child.

And this year there are even more Moms out there as warriors, fighting a pandemic, many on the frontlines,

trying to provide for their families, some without benefits, many without the wealth, or luxury to stay at home

behind a computer. Make sure you thank them for their service including…

the grocery and retail store workers. And there are so many more…..Maybe give them some flowers if you can find some.

Happy Mothers Day everyone!

And thank you to all the Moms. We are all in this together!

Beauty Is….

Beauty is: her face, her cheek and the curve down to her chin, and lips,

seeing her smile, looking at me with that sparkle in her eyes,

watching her with filled with joy, and acceptance, talking to friends,

seeing her look at the ocean as her heart travels out to sea,

her hand reaching for mine in church during prayer,

and realizing My Love is the most beautiful

woman, on the face of the earth.

Thank You!

Oceans 201

I realized recently, it has been a long time said I’ve done a thank you post! I have no big numbers to brag about, and no anniversaries to mention, but I do want to celebrate – you!

I believe I have some of the finest readers in the blogging world.

I love the diversity found here. There are people here from many different cultures, faiths, and backgrounds. And I love your work. Please know that if I follow your work I am so impressed, and I learn constantly from you. I wish I could follow more blogs! If you’ve been following this one for a while, you know that it has changed some. Hopefully I’m learning and growing the way you have been.

Thank you for being who you are, and for sharing my journey!

The Good Guys

police car night

I thank God for the brave men and women (more women than ever now) that place their lives on the line every single day. They deal with the horrible things of our uncivilized world. The young kid that overdoses on heroin, the rape victim, the drive by shootings, the mental patients that cannot control their rage, the knife fights with blood everywhere, and the gangs retaliating. Twelve year olds with pistols.

And through all this, they are supposed to throw away their emotions, into a garbage bag at the end of the shift, so they can go home. Trying to live a normal life with their families. Baseball games, and birthday parties. Teenagers needing to clean their rooms, and babies that need feeding. And by the way, they work all night so you and I can sleep safely. Finding sanity, in our insane world.

If you want to go back to the days of the Wild West, and not have any police officers, you go right ahead. You better choose your weapons now though, because you’re going to need them.

If you are a police officer – thank you! And God bless you.

I wish you peace.

One Year Ago

Mountains and Rivers 396

I am celebrating one full year of blogging! Wahoo! A great big thank you to everyone!

Here is a poem:

It was one year ago,

I began seeing,

the value of art,

the value of people,

love unconditionally,

and the Creator living.

I knew some things,

but lacked the love,

still recovering from false doctrine,

you encouraged me,

from Hong Kong,

Tokyo and Korea,

from beautiful Wales,

Great Britain, Canada,

France, and Liechtenstein???

yes Liechtenstein,

Then too there was Oklahoma,

and yes Alabama,

I can never forget India,

Pakistan, and many others.

We encourage one another,

and for that,

I am forever grateful,

brothers and sisters,

from the bottom of my heart,

thank you,

for being on this journey with me.

From our house to yours, PEACE, and every good blessing!

A Tribute to Women

pink roses

Today, in many parts of the world, it is Mother’s Day. I’m not sure if it was invented to sell more greeting cards, but it is good and right, to recognize our mothers, to show appreciation for them, and to thank them. I’m thankful for my mother, and for my wife (My Love), for being the amazing, wonderful people they are. But many of us did not grow up in a paradise on earth, where Mom stayed home, and cooked all day, meeting everyone’s needs, and prepared a fantastic meal for Thanksgiving. In many cases that is far from reality.

In many cases family life can be a hell on earth, instead of paradise. Do you say “Happy Mother’s Day” to a woman who is married to an abusive husband, who feels trapped, unable to free herself? What about the woman unable to have children because of medical reasons? Mother’s Day can be very painful. And then there are women who experience the horrible pain of losing a child, meaning they have passed away. What about them? What do you say?

Many women living in poverty, know nothing of Mother’s Day, and no one ever says thank you. Instead, they are terrified of being abused – again. In many cases they are also terrified of not having enough food for their children to eat, and sometimes these two circumstances are tied together. I’m not saying we should do away with Mother’s Day, far from it, but let’s remember the women who have never had a Happy Mother’s Day.

To all women who are having a difficult time, facing unimaginable circumstances, thank you for your courage, your determination, your love and compassion! YOU ARE AMAZING! And God please help us to make this world a better place, where women can be free, and safe, where all women can have opportunities to reach their full potential. Help us, help them. Amen. There are superheroes all over our planet, and many of them are women.

Compassion should always result in action.

Thoughts About Faith

I was in a pharmacy last year when I realized it. The woman helping me there, was very kind. Some people are like that – they have a gentleness about them. I realized at that moment that I could not accept the idea that this woman will burn in eternal hellfire, unless she believes a certain way, or unless she prays a certain way. I had lived with that type of thinking for a long time, and now I did not believe it, and I wanted nothing to do with it. I had changed in a major way. Harsh, judgemental thinking, was not for me, and it really had nothing to do with the faith that I had, living in me. I didn’t happen overnight, but it seemed that way.

Then I started blogging. I was stunned. The beauty of what you create opened up the world to me. Or another way of saying it is, I opened up, and took in the incredible beauty of our world. Wow! Thank you for what you create! I saw something in you that I knew was from the Creator. I call it the divine spark. So I began seeing light, and love, from people that held different beliefs, or in some cases no belief! So I changed more, and saw that even though I have a certain faith (and I still do), all people are to be loved and respected. I guess I knew this before in an intellectual way, but it has become even more clear now.

I am a seeker, I will always be a seeker. That’s why I love nature, and why I study other cultures. That’s why First Nations culture and spirituality strikes such a cord in me. If I ask questions about your religion, my questions are honest and sincere. I see wonderful truths in different places and beliefs.

Thank you for being with me, on my journey.

Note: I had not planned to write this, it just came to me. I will be posting a number of posts today, which is something I have not done before. I will make each one different. Here it goes!

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

very inspiring blogger awardpremio dardos award

red ribbon award

I want to say thank you to two people that nominated me for 3 different awards! Wow! Randombytes at Randombytesfromlife nominated me for the Infinity Dreams Award, and Erika Kind nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, as well as the Premio Dardos Award. I am deeply honored, thank you! I am so thankful to all who read my work. I have been blogging for less than a year, and I am still amazed that you want to read what I write. I have learned a lot, and I’m continually encouraged by your work! Thank you for being such wonderful writers, photographers, and artists!

Two of the awards wanted me to write 7 things about me that you do not know, so I will place 15 here (one extra). Here it goes!

I took linguistics and anthropology in college, and often think I should have been an anthropologist.

go cart 2I love go cart racing – meaning driving a go cart. I don’t compete though.

My favorite dog is the Labrador Retriever. But any big dog is good!

I think the most boring thing to watch is golf! I don’t see how people can do that, but playing golf is fun.

I started with a bow and arrow when I was very young.

I once took Tae Kwon Do (a martial art) and broke wooden boards (so cool!)

I love classical music, in particular Vivaldi, and J.S. Bach. For some reason I don’t care for Beethoven.

My favorite Christian rock band is The Letter Black. Check out their song – “Up From the Ashes”.labrador

I love blogging, and wish I had 5 more hours a day for it!  I am busy with family, work, learning about nature, and other cultures (exciting stuff!). So I post when I can. I don’t always see your work, but I love what you do, and visiting your sites! In my spare time, I am writing two books, and not only that, I’m planning on starting a publishing company. First though I need to learn how!

I don’t cuss or curse. Yeah I know, sounds weird! I don’t judge anyone, but I don’t practice it at all.

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be Maine. Parts of it are really rugged, and yet there are some beautiful small towns.

I am currently reading the Book of Psalms.

In the future I hope to start another blog which will be more music, and commentary oriented.

I want to learn more languages, including French and Italian. For some reason, and I can’t explain it, but I believe I need to learn Italian.

My wife is my best friend in the whole world (but you probably already knew that)!

The toughest part about the awards is trying to nominate other people (Ok Lisa you can stop laughing now!)

You are all deserving of awards and recognition! You are awesome!

Three in particular come to mind though.

Lisa – Underground Energy – for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Trini – Love Notes from the Angels – Premio Dardos Award

Esther – Hortus Closus – The Infinity Dreams Award

I don’t think any of them accept awards, but if they change their minds, they are more than deserving! Happy blogging everyone! Be blessed today and every day!

 Blessings to everyone and PEACE!
